We went to Roanoke to have lunch
today. Had passed by on the freeway on numerous trips, but never had driven
into the city.
One of the prettiest sights we saw
was the twin-spired Gothic St. Andrews Catholic church on one of the highest
points within the city. It was dedicated in 1902. The exterior is sandstone and
buff brick with a slate roof and copper finishing.
The city is very nice and is in a
pretty spot in the mountains.
