Winding road ... tiring for the
driver. And, it's certainly not Bentley's favorite thing to do. This is one of his positions when stressed - lodged between Mary's seat and the armrest of RV.
Lots of smoke in the Smoky Mountains. Raining.
Out of TN, and moving on into NC.
Arrived at Bear Creek RV in
Asheville, set up, let Bentley out, and headed for dinner at a place recommended
in Fodor's.
Feasted on North Carolina southern
fare at the Tupelo Honey Cafe in downtown tonight. So good.! Conni had a fried
chicken breast served in a bowl over biscuits and gravy. I had pecan coated
fried chicken breast with mac 'n cheese and the best fried okra ever. Banana pudding
was good enough to write home about.
We were at the urgent care because
Conni's left thumb has been hurting a week or so and wasn't getting better. It
turned out to be tendonitis. They put a splint on it that she has to wear for
six weeks, so she may still be sporting it when we get home.
We're keeping our eye on Hurricane Joaquin
in the Atlantic because it might hit land in the Carolina's and our trip plan
is to head to Charlotte, NC, then Charleston, SC, and on to the Outer Banks, NC.
In the meantime, they are predicting
rain and flooding in Asheville through the weekend.
