Mary – 09-28-15 NC Trip – Dayton to Townsend, TN

Townsend is one of the gateways into the Great Smoky National Park. The population is only around 450, but there are some neat shops and the people are friendly. We toured several of the shops and picked up some delicious chocolate and pumpkin fudge.

Our campground was all decked out for fall and it was time, as you see on the car.

We had a late lunch at Miss Lily's Cafe. It turned out to be a really neat place close to the river. When we finished, we took some pictures of the nearby area.
Note how part of the house is out over the river

We returned to the RV for Conni's camera and Bentley. Got camera, but left Bentley when he decided not to jump in the car. He doesn't like the wheelchair in the back. We took off for the 11 mile Cades Cove Loop Road in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It was a beautiful drive with a number of old buildings, churches, and cemeteries.
