Conni – 08-23-14 Banff Trip –Denver, CO

Next stop – Denver! Well, we actually camped at a beautiful park in Golden. But, naturally, we made a trip into downtown Denver. We spent quite a bit of time at the 16^th Street Mall. No autos, just pedestrians, and lots of them. Neat architecture. Lots of opportunities for pictures.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 It rained, off and on, so we sought refuge in a Hard Rock Café for drinks.

 

 

 

Conni – 08-21-14 Banff Trip –Loveland, CO

The last time we went thru Loveland, it was just a spot beside the road. Now, it’s a pretty good size city and probably not much need to go into Denver for supplies anymore. Keep in mind, that was a lot of years ago. They also have a very pretty sculpture garden and we spent some time there. Very nice.

Conni – 08-20-14 Banff Trip –Rocky Mountain National Park

We camped in a really pretty park outside Loveland, CO., right next to a river. Actually, it was one that had flooded, along with much of the area, the year before. We took a day trip up to RMNP. We both thought the drive up to the park was prettier than the park. We’ve been to the park before, but this time I think we took a different route inside the park. Maybe not quite as pretty, but still a very beautiful place.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Conni – 08-13/17-14 Banff Trip –Buffalo, WY

Well, we’re staying in Buffalo again. Nice camp ground and this time we spent enough time to go into town. Even though we’ve stayed here several times, that was a first.

So here’s some shots of a home for sale that really looked interesting and pretty and some of the town.

 

 

 

 

While here, we took a day trip and drove over a Powder River Pass to Ten Sleep. Ha, it really is a sleepy little town. But, the drive over and back was certainly a worthwhile trip.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Our next day excursion was to find “Hole in the Wall”, a hideout for Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. They apparently frequented Buffalo and used "the hole" as a hideout. We took the trip in the Jeep and we made it all but about 200-300 yards or so. I don’t see how they ever found it in the first place. Very hard to get to, but easy to guard, I guess. Sorry we couldn’t make it all the way, but it was a very interesting drive. If you didn’t have 4-wheel drive, you couldn’t have made it nearly as far as we did. Saw a little wild life on the way.

 

 

 

 

 

 

And, then we spotted something whimsical - a '57 Chevy motorcycle!

 

 

Conni – 08-11/12-14 Banff Trip –Yellowstone

We spent a couple of nites in Livingston, MT and drove to Gardiner for a little day trip into northern Yellowstone. Even though we’ve been to the park several times, I don’t think we had taken this northern loop before – ha, or maybe old age is just letting me forget? I must admit that other parts of the park are prettier and also have more animals, but it was a nice outing. We also stopped for lunch and then made our way back.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Of course, this time we stopped in Gardiner and had some ice cream and added to our t-shirt supply.
